Germans settled this charming county just west of Philadelphia in the 17th century.  It is home to many Amish who maintain a simple, old world lifestyle with farms without electricity.  They are noted for their woodworking.  This road is typical of the many back roads and lanes popular with visitors from Philadelphia.

At the heart of this Ivy League school, this treasured structure is a fine example of High Victorian Gothic style.

Located in suburban Philadelphia, Longwood Gardens is one of the premier botanical gardens in the United States.  It was founded in 1906 by Pierre S. du Pont, an American entrepreneur, businessman, and philanthropist, who dedicated over 1,077 acres to gardens and woodlands.  This gazebo and lily pond are very popular among Longwood visitors. There is also a sixty-one-foot-tall stone carillon tower and an organ that can be heard throughout the conservatory.

Often imitated around the world, Philadelphia is home to the original cheesesteak.
